Our hearts are heavy today 💔 as we bring you news of a tragic event at Charles University in Prague. On Thursday, a shooter took the lives of at least 14 people and wounded 25 others in what is being called the deadliest mass shooting the Czech Republic has seen in decades.
The university area is currently cordoned off by police 🚧, and the community is in shock. The next official update from authorities is expected on Friday morning, and we'll keep you posted.
In response to the tragedy, officials announced a day of mourning on Saturday. During this time, flags across the country will fly at half-staff 🇨🇿, a nationwide minute of silence will be observed, and bells will toll to honor the victims 🔔.
The Czech Prime Minister has called for unity during this difficult time, and people are coming together to support one another 💙.
