Under the scorching sun of Beijing's summer, some of the city's most majestic residents are finding cool new ways to beat the heat! 🦅☀️
At the Beijing Raptor Rescue Center, birds of prey like sub-adult common kestrels and eagle owls are getting a little help staying chill during intense heat waves. How? With outdoor sprinkler systems, water basins, and plenty of tasty treats! 💦🌳
These feathered guardians play a crucial role in keeping our environment balanced by controlling other animal populations. Since 2001, the center, co-founded by the International Fund for Animal Welfare and Beijing Normal University and authorized by Beijing authorities, has rescued over 5,800 raptors!
To help them stay strong, the rehabilitation specialists provide nutritious food like bee pupae hidden in pine cones—a fun and healthy snack that boosts their strength and immunity. 🐝🌲
Thanks to these efforts, Beijing's raptors are soaring high and staying cool, ready to keep watch over the skies! 🦅✨
