In the heart of the Gobi Desert 🌵, where sand dunes stretch as far as the eye can see, a green revolution is blooming! 🌿
Seven years ago, in Minqin, northwest China's Gansu Province, Xu Ercai and his wife Chen Ying took on a challenge that seemed impossible. With the scorching sun above and the parched earth below, they decided to grow vegetables 🍅🥬.
Their neighbors thought they were crazy. \"Vegetables? Here? Without water?!\" 💦❌ But Xu and Chen believed in their dream.
Thanks to a rural revitalization strategy launched in 2017, their dream took root. The local government stepped in to help establish a high-efficiency irrigation system 🚰, turning the barren land into fertile ground.
Fast forward to today, and the couple runs a cooperative covering 700 hectares 🌾—that's like 1,300 football fields! 🏟️ They grow 12 varieties of vegetables, bringing fresh produce to the community and beyond.
Their journey from desert dwellers to green growers is nothing short of inspirational. 🌟 It shows that with determination, innovation, and a little help, anything is possible—even growing veggies in the desert! 🌽✨
