At the heart of the Pine Ridge Reservation, community activist Eileen Janis is on a mission to empower the youth by reconnecting them with their Native American culture and traditions. 🎉
\"When they're connected to our Native American culture and our traditions, they're more calm,\" Janis shares. \"Those youth that have a connection are just outstanding to me. They are really good examples to other youth that don't have that chance.\"
Janis believes that embracing their heritage not only grounds the young people but also inspires them to become problem solvers. \"I want them to take every opportunity there is,\" she says with passion. \"I want them to be problem solvers for themselves and to feel good about themselves.\"
By fostering a strong cultural identity, Janis hopes to pave the way for a brighter future for the next generation on the reservation. 🌟
