Originally serving as the seat of the governor-general's office for Guangdong and Guangxi during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the walls stretch an impressive 2.8 kilometers. Over the centuries, they've undergone several renovations and expansions, resulting in the current walls being primarily brick, complemented by clay, stone, and wood structures.
