We met up with 26-year-old Yao Shanglong, also known by his Deang name A Sai, from Baiyan Village in Zhenkang County. With a proud smile, he shared how his hometown has transformed. Back in the day, families lived in worn-out bamboo and thatch houses, farming veggies and grains just to get by. But now, thanks to supportive policies, everyone’s living in modern homes, and the sugarcane and nut industries are booming. 💪🌱
But that’s not all! The Deang community's heart beats strong with Ashuse culture—a lively mix of songs, dances, and music that's been passed down for over 2,000 years. 🎶💃🕺 Whether they're celebrating or just hanging out, the Deang people burst into spontaneous performances, expressing the ups and downs of life with pure authenticity.
