Xi Jinping Urges Reviving China’s Heritage After UNESCO Recognition

🌟 In a move that's got everyone talking, Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for renewed efforts to preserve and rejuvenate China's cultural and natural heritage. This comes hot on the heels of UNESCO inscribing three of China's treasures onto the World Heritage List in July 2024. 🎉

President Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the importance of these sites in showcasing China's rich history and harmony with nature. He urged for their protection and utilization to better meet the needs of the people.

The three newly recognized sites are:

  • The Beijing Central Axis: A Building Ensemble Exhibiting the Ideal Order of the Chinese Capital 🏛️
  • The Badain Jaran Desert – Towers of Sand and Lakes 🏜️
  • Migratory Bird Sanctuaries along the Coast of Yellow Sea-Bohai Gulf of China (Phase II) 🐦

These additions bring China's total to 59 World Heritage sites, highlighting the country's commitment to preserving its unique landscapes and cultural landmarks. 🌍

President Xi noted that the inclusion of these sites adds new luster to world civilizations and plays a significant role in building Chinese modernization that features material and cultural-ethical advancement and harmony between humanity and nature.

He also called for enhanced international exchange and cooperation in this field, contributing to the Global Civilization Initiative and the building of a community with a shared future for humanity. 🤝

With these recognitions, China continues to shine on the global stage, reminding us all of the beauty and significance of preserving our world's treasures. ✨
