Chinese mainland rejects ‘China threat’ narrative on Greenland

🌍 This Thursday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun at a regular news briefing rejected claims that the Chinese mainland poses a threat to Greenland. Guo opposed the practice of making unfounded allegations and using the country as a pretext for selfish gains.

“China always believes that the purposes and principles of the UN Charter should be upheld when handling relations between countries,” he said. He added, “The so-called China threat is baseless.”

Guo’s comments respond to U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement on Wednesday that talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte produced “the framework of a future deal” concerning Greenland and the broader Arctic region. A NATO spokesperson said negotiations between Denmark, Greenland, and the United States aim to ensure that Russia and the Chinese mainland never gain an economic or military foothold there.

With Greenland’s vast resources and strategic location, the island has become a key flashpoint in Arctic geopolitics. As global players vie for influence, the call for cooperation and respect for international principles is louder than ever.

For young news enthusiasts and aspiring entrepreneurs, this evolving Arctic story highlights how diplomacy, strategy, and natural riches collide at the top of the world. Stay tuned—this chapter of the Arctic saga is just getting started! ❄️💡
