Last Thursday, at the China General Chamber of Commerce-USA (CGCC) annual gala in Washington D.C., the Chinese mainland’s Ambassador to the United States, Xie Feng, sent a clear message: cooperation with principles is the way forward 🤝🌟
Drawing on the historic truth that both sides gain from working together and lose from confrontation, Xie Feng urged the United States to implement the consensus reached at the Busan meeting in 2025, expand collaboration, remove barriers and keep China-U.S. relations on a sound, steady path.
He stressed that when it comes to core issues of sovereignty, security and development interests, the Chinese mainland will not compromise. At the same time, its strategic choice to pursue high-quality development and a high-standard opening-up remains unchanged. An ever-more open mainland China means fresh opportunities for global partners 🌐🚀
On the business front, Xie Feng highlighted the untapped potential for two-way, mutually beneficial partnerships between Chinese and American companies. He called on the American government to ensure a fair, open and non-discriminatory environment for Chinese enterprises operating in the United States, with visa and border entry facilitation instead of obstacles.
The gala brought together around 300 leaders from both sides of the Pacific, celebrating firms that have driven economic growth, cultural exchange and community engagement. Michael Franco, President and CFO of Vornado Realty Group, praised the professionalism and mutual respect that mark U.S.-China business ties and looked forward to building the future together with the CGCC 🌍💼
Founded in 2005, the CGCC is the largest non-profit connecting American and Chinese enterprises in the United States, playing a vital role in bridging markets and cultures.
