China’s software sector revenue jumps 13.3% in Jan–Nov 2025

China’s software and information technology sector wrapped up 2025 on a high note, with revenue from software-related business jumping 13.3% year-on-year to 13,977.7 billion yuan (about $2 trillion) between January and November, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. 🚀

Exports kept the momentum, climbing 8.1% to $56.9 billion and marking nine straight months of growth. Here’s the breakdown:

  • 💻 IT services: 68.8% of total revenue

  • 🔌 Integrated circuit (IC) design: soared 16.5% to 402.8 billion yuan (~$57.7B)
  • 📈 Software services: grew 11.4%, with basic and industrial software hitting 2,950.9 billion yuan (~$422.8B)

Regionally, every part of China saw gains:

  • Eastern China: up 13.7%, accounting for 83.4% of total revenue
  • Yangtze River Delta: standout region with a 14.8% rise
  • Central China: +13.2%
  • Western China: +10.3%
  • Northeastern China: +9.6%

Top performers by provincial-level region: Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong and Shanghai led the charge, showcasing the vibrant tech hubs driving China’s digital economy forward. 🌐
