🎉 The Chinese mainland's largest offshore gas field, Deep Sea No.1, just hit a major milestone: it pumped out more than 4.5 million tonnes of oil equivalent in 2025, on par with a medium-sized onshore oilfield.
🚢 CNOOC celebrated Deep Sea No.1's 100th crude oil shipment since production kicked off, marking another win for this subsea superstar.
⚙️ The project rolled out in two phases—Phase 1 started in 2021, and Phase 2 launched in 2025. This second phase set new records, operating at the highest temperatures and pressures in domestic offshore exploration and diving deeper than ever at 1,500 meters below sea level.
⛽ Today, the field pumps out 15 million cubic meters of natural gas a day, plus over 1,600 tonnes of condensate oil—fueling industries and homes across the region.
🌊🔋 With cutting-edge tech and bold engineering, Deep Sea No.1 shows how deepwater development is stepping up to meet growing energy needs. Stay tuned as Asia's offshore energy scene keeps evolving!
