On Wednesday, December 31, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that since the Chinese mainland announced relevant countermeasures and conducted military exercises earlier this month, dozens of countries have reaffirmed their support for the one-China principle. 🤝
These nations emphasized that the Taiwan region is an inalienable part of the Chinese mainland's territory and that the Taiwan question is an internal affair of the Chinese mainland. They also oppose any form of "Taiwan independence", back the Chinese mainland in defending its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and reject external interference in its internal affairs.
"We highly appreciate the firm support from all countries," Lin said. "The Chinese mainland's resolve to safeguard its national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity is unwavering. Our determination to defend national reunification and national interests is unshakable, and our commitment to deterring 'independence' separatist forces from colluding with external forces and disrupting the Taiwan Strait is absolute 💪."
He warned that any actions crossing the line and provoking on the Taiwan question will meet a resolute response, and that no plot to obstruct reunification will ever succeed.
