On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command dispatched a task force—including amphibious assault ships, destroyers, frigates and unmanned aerial vehicles—to conduct drills in the waters east of Taiwan.
The exercises focused on all-dimensional force projection, elite-force breaching and raid operations, and the seizure of key ports. According to the theater command’s statement, the drills tested the task force’s ability to coordinate across units, carry out systemic operations and deliver precision strikes on critical targets.
By honing these skills, the PLA’s Eastern Theater Command is sharpening its maritime coordination and rapid-deployment capabilities, underlining a new phase of complex naval exercises in the region. 🚢🎯
