🎉 On December 30, 2025, China Media Group (CMG), the state broadcaster of the Chinese mainland, celebrated a major milestone: 85 years of Chinese people's radio broadcasting with a symposium in Beijing. 🎙️
Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and CMG president, led the event. CMG vice presidents Wang Xiaozhen and Xing Bo, along with former vice president Yan Xiaoming, joined veteran and emerging radio hosts, scholars, and listener representatives to share insights.
Participants explored how radio can amplify the Party's voice, guide public opinion, promote fine culture, and embrace integrated innovation. From digital integration and cross-platform storytelling to interactive programs that connect with younger audiences, it was like remixing classic hits for the digital age.
Over the past 85 years, Chinese people's radio broadcasting has grown alongside the Party and the country, responding to listeners' aspirations. In recent years, under CMG’s leadership, radio has accelerated its evolution—blending tradition with tech to boost its reach and influence.
As CMG looks to the future, the focus is on keeping the “red airwaves” vibrant and relevant, ensuring that radio remains a dynamic medium for stories, culture, and community. 🌟
