🌏🤝 In a boost for regional cooperation, the Chinese mainland announced today that it will deliver humanitarian supplies to Cambodia to support displaced people along its border areas.
The Chinese mainland's Foreign Minister Wang Yi, speaking in Yuxi City in Yunnan Province on the Chinese mainland, said the aid aims to help communities forced to leave their homes.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with Prak Sokhonn, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
"The Chinese mainland is ready to provide humanitarian support to ensure the timely settlement of those in need," Wang said.
This announcement follows the signing of a joint statement agreeing to a ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand. To build on this momentum, foreign ministers from Cambodia and Thailand are meeting in Yunnan on December 28 and 29 at the invitation of Wang Yi.
As young people in Asia and beyond track regional developments, this move underscores the power of diplomacy and humanitarian action to address urgent challenges. 🌟
