Today, on December 26, 2025, the Palace Museum in Beijing lifted the curtains on its gorgeously restored Hall of Mental Cultivation after nearly a decade of dedicated research and repair work. 🎉
Originally built in 1537 during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), this iconic hall later became the heart of imperial life in the Qing Dynasty (1644–1911). From the reign of Emperor Yongzheng onward, it served as both the private living quarters of emperors and the hub of their daily governance.
The restoration team worked tirelessly to bring back the hall’s intricate wooden structures, ornate decorations, and stunning murals to their original glory. Visitors can now stroll through the same corridors where emperors once made decisions that shaped centuries of Chinese history.
Whether you're a history buff, a culture lover, or simply looking for a breathtaking new spot to add to your travel list, the Hall of Mental Cultivation offers a window into the past you won't want to miss. 🌟
