700+ Generative AI Models Filed in the Chinese Mainland

🚀 Generative AI Goes Mainstream

The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) said on Thursday that over 700 generative AI large model products have completed filing procedures in the Chinese mainland. This milestone shows how quickly AI is evolving, with applications ranging from smart chatbots to advanced content creation tools.

📱 HarmonyOS Expands Its Reach

During the current 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), devices running the open-source HarmonyOS operating system topped 1.19 billion units. As more smartphones, wearables, and smart home gadgets join the HarmonyOS ecosystem, embodied intelligence is moving closer to real-world industrial applications.

🌐 Bridging the Digital Divide

Internet penetration on the Chinese mainland jumped from 70.4% to 79.7% over the past five years, according to the CAC. Even more impressive, the gap between urban and rural residents narrowed by 8.2 percentage points. Tech is becoming more accessible, whether you’re in Shanghai or a remote village.

🚜 Smart Farming & Rural Commerce

Agricultural production technologies are also leveling up: IT application rates in farming climbed from 22.5% to over 30%. Online retail sales in rural areas shot past 2.5 trillion yuan (about $355 billion) in 2024—a 43% increase since the 13th Five-Year Plan. Plus, telemedicine networks now reach every city and county on the Chinese mainland, bringing healthcare closer to the countryside.

With these breakthroughs, the Chinese mainland is set to finish the 14th Five-Year Plan on a high note, paving the way for even bolder tech innovation. Stay tuned for what’s next! 🌟
