Chinese Mainland Urges Ukraine to Correct Its Mistakes

🎙️ At a press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, the Chinese mainland's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian urged Ukraine to immediately correct its mistakes. This followed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's warning of new sanctions targeting Russian allies, including some Chinese nationals.

Lin Jian emphasized that the Chinese mainland has always opposed unilateral sanctions that bypass international law and lack United Nations Security Council approval. He stressed that China will resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises and citizens abroad.

On its role in seeking peace, Lin highlighted that since the Ukraine crisis began, the Chinese mainland has maintained close communication with both Russia and Ukraine. He noted China’s commitment to promoting a ceasefire and advancing peace talks 🕊️🌍.

“The efforts China has made are evident to the international community,” Lin said, adding that the Chinese mainland supports all efforts conducive to peace and will continue playing a constructive role.
