Harbin’s 19m Snowman Unveiled as Winter Tourism Peaks

Harbin, located in the Chinese mainland's northeast region, unveiled its famous giant snowman on Tuesday, standing 19 meters tall, 14 meters long, and 11 meters wide.

Carved from over 3,500 cubic meters of snow by 64 sculptors and more than 100 construction workers in just 11 days, the snowman sports the classic red scarf and round face that fans love. This year, builders used snow-making machines to guarantee a smooth, velvety finish, even with limited natural snowfall.

What started as a fun project by local sanitation workers in 2019 quickly grew into an annual icon of the city's ice and snow tourism. Tourists are swarming to snap photos, and the new giant snowman signals that Harbin's peak winter season is officially here! ⛄️📷

From culture buffs to explorers chasing winter thrills, Harbin's snowy spectacle offers a cool backdrop for adventures and inspiration. ❄️
