China and UAE Aim for Next-Level Strategic Partnership

Imagine a powerhouse duo making moves in global diplomacy 🌍 – like co-founders in a global startup – that’s what’s happening as China and the United Arab Emirates gear up to elevate their partnership to new heights.

On December 12, 2025, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. Wang highlighted how both countries have built a solid friendship over the past 40 years, thanks to aligned development strategies, similar governance philosophies, and highly complementary economies.

"We want to expand mutually beneficial cooperation and carry forward our traditional friendship," Wang said, stressing China’s commitment to deepening strategic mutual trust and implementing the consensus reached by their heads of state.

Looking ahead, both sides are excited about the second China-Arab States Summit scheduled in China in 2026. With the UAE and other Arab states on board, they hope the Summit will deliver positive outcomes and take China-Arab relations to a new level 🤝.

For his part, Sheikh Abdullah praised the rapid growth of UAE-China ties, describing them as a model for state-to-state relations. He reaffirmed the UAE’s support for the one-China principle, welcoming China’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national reunification efforts, and opposing external interference.

Beyond bilateral talks, Wang and Sheikh Abdullah also exchanged views on regional issues, underscoring the importance of communication and coordination in today’s shifting international landscape.

As both nations look to 2026, their shared vision of cooperation hints at even stronger economic, cultural, and political ties – proving that when global partners align, the possibilities are endless 🚀.
