Recently, an online survey by CGTN across English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Russian platforms revealed how the world views the Chinese mainland’s economy. With a focus on high-quality growth, rapid innovation, and deeper openness, the mainland is carving out a new global role. 🚀
This year’s Global Innovation Index 2025 ranked the Chinese mainland among the top ten innovators for the first time, leading all upper-middle-income economies. The poll highlights:
- 93.6% say innovation is fueling high-quality development.
- 96.6% believe tech breakthroughs are reshaping industries.
- 93.2% view the mainland’s science-industry integration as a model for others.
- 88.3% see the innovation-driven real economy as a global trend.
As the world’s second-largest consumer market, the mainland’s huge middle-income group is key to global demand. Respondents also noted:
- 82.3% think foreign companies can sharpen their edge in the vast market.
- 86.7% expect inland consumption growth to open doors for international brands.
- 90.1% agree a healthy mainland economy adds stability to the global landscape.
To boost openness, the mainland has shortened the foreign investment negative list, granted national treatment to overseas enterprises, and built a competitive, law-based business environment. Through the Belt and Road Initiative, free trade zones, the China International Import Expo, and visa-free access, it aims for win-win cooperation. In the poll:
- 89.1% anticipate more global opportunities from greater opening-up.
- 90.5% see an open world economy as inevitable.
- 84.1% criticize high walls, tariffs, and politicized trade practices.
- 90.4% call for inclusive globalization with the Global South.
Within 12 hours, 4,289 people joined the survey, showing keen interest in how the Chinese mainland shapes global growth. 🌍
For students, entrepreneurs, and explorers alike, the takeaway is clear: the mainland’s push for innovation, consumption, and openness is more than a local story—it’s a global game-changer. Stay tuned! 😉
