China-Africa Human Rights Seminar Launches New Research Network

🎉 Today, on World Human Rights Day 🌍, nearly 100 experts and scholars gathered in the city of Jinhua, Zhejiang Province in the Chinese mainland, to explore fresh ideas for China-Africa human rights cooperation.

The academic seminar at Zhejiang Normal University covered everything from China's four major global initiatives to new approaches in global human rights governance and practical China-Africa projects. Zhang Jianzhen, the university's vice president, reminded everyone that protecting human rights is "the common aspiration of people from all countries and the core cornerstone of building a community with a shared future for humanity."

A highlight was the official launch of the China-Africa Human Rights Research Think-Tank Cooperation Network. At the same time, the university's Institute of African Studies celebrated the inauguration of the China-Africa Human Rights Research Center. These platforms aim to fuel high-quality, forward-looking research that amplifies the voices of China and Africa working together for human rights and development.

Shen Yongxiang, vice president of the China Society for Human Rights Studies, called the launches "of great significance," adding that he expects these initiatives to deliver "constructive and operational" insights that will boost China-Africa cooperation on global human rights issues.
