China Debuts First Fully Autonomous Gas Turbine Control System

This month, the Chinese mainland's first smart autonomous operation control system for a gas turbine power plant has been commissioned at the Huaneng Shanghai Gas Power Station, according to the China Huaneng Group. ⚡🤖

This breakthrough means the plant can run its entire process—from startup and grid connection to load regulation and shutdown—without any human intervention. Imagine a power plant that starts itself, adjusts power loads, and powers down all on its own!

The new system, dubbed the 'intelligent brain', collects data with a single click, monitors equipment health, predicts changes in advance, and fine-tunes control strategies proactively. This reduces manual errors and boosts safety across every stage.

During test runs, the units hit a 100% compliance rate across all key parameters, a major milestone in the digital and intelligent transformation of traditional energy generation. As the energy sector evolves, this leap toward autonomy could set the stage for greener, more efficient power plants worldwide.
