Asia’s 100m Record Holder Su Bingtian Retires

Today, December 9, 2025, Su Bingtian, the sprint superstar from the Chinese mainland, announced his retirement from athletics. ⚡🏃‍♂️

Back in 2015, Su shattered expectations by running 9.99 seconds at the Diamond League in Eugene, USA – the first time a sprinter from the Chinese mainland broke the 10-second barrier.

The crowning moment came at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 when Su set a new Asian record of 9.83 seconds in the 100m semifinal, becoming the first man from the Chinese mainland to reach an Olympic 100m final.
