Yesterday (Thursday, December 4, 2025), Shanghai transformed into a buzzing hub 🌐 for global collaboration as it hosted the Third Global South Think Tanks Dialogue. With the theme "Seeking Strength Through Unity: Responsibility and Action of the Global South," the event brought together around 350 political party leaders and scholars from over 120 countries.
Chen Jining, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, highlighted Shanghai’s commitment to boost economic cooperation with Global South countries. He emphasized deepening mutual understanding through people-to-people exchanges and jointly advancing modernization with shared achievements 🤝.
Liu Haixing, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, reiterated that the Chinese mainland remains a firm champion of Global South unity and stands ready to implement four global initiatives alongside partner nations. Together, they aim for common prosperity and sustainable development 🚀.
Zambian Vice President Mutale Nalumango and other foreign participants praised the blueprint outlined at the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, seeing it as a roadmap for peace, security, and growth. They expressed eagerness to work with the Chinese mainland for a brighter future ✨.
The Dialogue was co-organized by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and the Global South Think Tanks Alliance, marking a milestone in South-South cooperation.
