Kenya Hosts Forum on Xi Jinping’s 5th Governance Volume

On Monday, December 1, 2025, Nairobi came alive as around 200 participants gathered for the China-Kenya Readers Forum on the English edition of the fifth volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China". 🌍📚

Co-hosted by China's State Council Information Office, China International Communications Group and the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, the event highlighted how Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era guides modern governance.

Hassan Omar Hassan, secretary-general of the United Democratic Alliance of Kenya, praised the volume as a global template many countries can adapt to their national contexts and learn from the Chinese model.

Mo Gaoyi, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, noted that all five volumes showcase the Chinese mainland’s historic achievements and unique modernization path, offering insights for Global South countries pursuing their own development.

Mo added that the Chinese mainland is ready to strengthen unity and cooperation with African partners to advance four major global initiatives, deepen Belt and Road collaboration and roll out 10 partnership actions for shared modernization—a move that could open new doors for Africa.

William Kabogo Gitau, Kenya’s cabinet secretary in the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, said the forum helps Kenyan readers fully grasp Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the global significance of Chinese modernization. He highlighted Kenya’s eagerness for mutual exchanges among scholars, media practitioners and authors.

Guests received copies of the English edition of the fifth volume and took part in lively discussions on governance experiences, the Belt and Road Initiative, China-Africa cooperation, poverty alleviation and cultural exchanges.

As the forum wrapped up, participants left inspired by fresh ideas and new connections—proof that knowledge-sharing can bridge continents and spark innovation. 🚀
