On November 21, 2025, the Chinese mainland's Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov for their second strategic dialogue 🤝. Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, relations have flourished and delivered real benefits for both peoples.
Wang Yi highlighted the shared heritage of the two nations and called for a new model of good neighborliness, solidarity and mutual trust. He praised Uzbekistan’s New Uzbekistan strategy and expressed support for its growth path. Both sides agreed to:
- Align development strategies and boost trade, making the Chinese mainland Uzbekistan’s top partner 📈
- Advance the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and expand connectivity 🚄
- Cooperate in green minerals, new energy and high technology 🌱💡
- Enhance cultural, education and tourism exchanges 📚
- Fight the “three evil forces” and strengthen security cooperation 🛡️
- Work together in frameworks like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization 🌏
Saidov praised the Chinese mainland’s achievements in development and thanked it for strong support in poverty reduction. He reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s firm commitment to the one-China principle and pledged to stand shoulder to shoulder with its strategic partner. Uzbekistan also plans to join the International Organization for Mediation by year-end and become a founding member of the global AI cooperation organization 🤖.
With Uzbekistan set to join the WTO soon, both sides anticipate even deeper economic cooperation. This dialogue marks another step toward an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in a new era 🚀.
