In a dynamic meeting on November 18, 2025, Chinese premier Li Qiang and Mongolian prime minister Gombojav Zandanshatar met in Moscow to supercharge their countries’ partnership 🤝. They agreed to ramp up trade and dive into hot new sectors like green energy and the digital economy ✨.
Li Qiang described Mongolia as a close neighbor connected by mountains and rivers, stressing that a stable, friendly relationship benefits everyone. He pointed back to September’s Beijing talks between President Xi Jinping and President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh as proof of this shared vision.
Looking ahead, Li said China will prioritize Mongolia in its neighborhood diplomacy, aligning development strategies and boosting collaboration on minerals, energy and infrastructure. He even invited Mongolia to explore deeper ties with China’s border provinces and spark more cooperation in the Altai sub-region 🌏.
PM Zandanshatar congratulated China on its fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, where the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) was approved. He praised China’s approach to diplomacy—amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness—and thanked China for decades of support.
The Mongolian leader reaffirmed his country’s one-China policy, noting that Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Xizang are inalienable parts of China. He also highlighted Mongolia’s readiness to team up on connectivity, infrastructure, mining, green energy and multilateral projects within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
With both sides committed to stronger strategic communication and practical cooperation, this Moscow meetup lays fresh groundwork for China–Mongolia ties as they move into 2026 and beyond 🚀.
