Premier Li Qiang Pledges Deeper China-Russia Cooperation

Fresh off the SCO Tianjin Summit in September, Chinese premier Li Qiang touched down in Moscow on Nov. 17, 2025, ready to crank up cooperation with Russia in investment, energy, agriculture and more. 🤝

In his meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Li pointed back to their 30th regular heads of government meeting in Hangzhou, where they reviewed progress and mapped out next steps based on the consensus between President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin. 🌏

Li highlighted that the Chinese market is wide open for high-quality Russian agricultural and food products, and he urged Moscow to roll out the red carpet for Chinese enterprises looking to invest and operate in Russia. 🚜📈

He also called for a boost in people-to-people and cultural exchanges—think joint film projects and student partnerships—to add more human warmth to this strategic partnership. 📚🎬

This trip coincides with the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of SCO members, where Li expressed China's commitment to upholding the Shanghai Spirit and fast-tracking the development blueprint leaders agreed on earlier. 🌐

Mishustin praised the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership as unprecedented and said Russia is ready to intensify dialogue, create new growth points and offer a friendly business environment for Chinese investors. ✨

Together, both sides aim to strengthen the institutional framework of the SCO, support Global South solidarity and shape a multipolar, inclusive world that benefits all. 🌍
