🌐 On Friday, November 14, Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Jianghao summoned Japan’s Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Funakoshi Takehiro in Tokyo, lodging a strong protest against Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s remarks on the Taiwan region.
Wu criticized the PM’s comments as “blatantly provocative,” saying they crossed China’s “red line” and refused to retract or apologize. He argued the statements interfered in China’s internal affairs, violated the one-China principle and international law, and undermined post-war global order. ⚖️
Highlighting that the Taiwan region “belongs to China” and that its resolution is an internal matter, Wu warned that any attempt at armed intervention in the cross-strait situation would be an act of aggression met with a firm response from the Chinese side. ⚔️
The ambassador urged Japan to reflect on its history, retract the remarks, and cease provocations—or face the consequences. This latest clash underscores ongoing tensions over Taiwan’s status and the fragile balance of Asia-Pacific security.
