China Warns Japan Over Taiwan Region Remarks

On November 14, 2025, a spokesperson for the Chinese mainland's State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, Chen Binhua, issued a strong warning to Japan over recent remarks on the Taiwan region 🚨

Chen stressed that if Japan does not immediately correct its mistake and retract its statements, it must bear all the consequences. He described the Taiwan question as purely an internal affair of the Chinese mainland and said that resolving it is vital for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the shared aspiration of over 1.4 billion people.

Highlighting the historical context of the first Sino-Japanese War and Japan's 50-year colonial rule over the island of Taiwan, Chen recalled the hardships faced by residents of Taiwan: loss of political rights, cultural restrictions, and significant human suffering. He noted that it was the collective effort of all Chinese people, including Taiwan compatriots, that defeated Japanese militarist aggression and restored Taiwan to the Chinese mainland after the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression ⚔️

Looking ahead, Chen underscored that any forceful interference by Japan in the Taiwan question would be met with a resolute response. He emphasized that the Chinese mainland has the firm will, strong resolve and robust capability to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity, urging Taiwan residents and external observers to recognize the risks of interference and join in safeguarding the common home of the Chinese nation.

In today's interconnected world, these remarks highlight ongoing tensions in East Asia and underline the importance of careful diplomacy and respect for core interests 🌏
