👑✈️ Today, Thursday afternoon, Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn touched down in Beijing, kicking off a historic five-day state visit to China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.
This marks the first time a Thai monarch has visited the Chinese mainland since the two countries established diplomatic relations 50 years ago. Over the next few days, the King will meet separately with President Xi Jinping and the Chinese premier Li Qiang to discuss deeper cooperation in trade, culture, and tourism.
Born in July 1952, King Maha Vajiralongkorn ascended the throne in 2016 and held his coronation in May 2019 as King Rama X. His journey to Beijing is expected to spark new tourism routes, student exchanges, and business partnerships across Asia.
