China and Guinea Deepen Ties at Simandou Mine Launch

This week (November 10-12) Chinese Vice Premier Liu Guozhong visited Guinea as President Xi Jinping’s special representative. He joined the inauguration of the Simandou iron ore mine project, marking a new chapter in China-Guinea friendship 🤝

Liu met with Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya for in-depth talks on expanding cooperation across trade, infrastructure, and health. He also conveyed Xi’s warm greetings and congratulated Guinea on its rapid completion of the Simandou project 🚀

Described as a fruit of nearly 70 years of partnership, the Simandou mine will boost Guinea’s economy and support its Simandou 2040 strategic plan. At the signing ceremony, Liu and Doumbouya unveiled the new China-Africa Joint Medical Center to improve local health services 🏥

Looking back at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in 2024, where Xi met Doumbouya, Liu stressed that China stands ready to fully implement the summit outcomes. Both sides agreed to strengthen mutual support, deepen win-win cooperation, and work together on modernization 🌍

For young investors and professionals, this partnership signals more opportunities in West Africa. The Simandou mine is just the start of a broader collaboration that could reshape trade routes and spark new projects in mining, tech, and beyond ⚙️

Stay tuned as China and Guinea turn bold plans into action and write the next chapter of their long-standing friendship.
