Peng Liyuan & Queen Letizia Spotlight Disability Support in Beijing 🤝

Earlier today, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Queen Letizia of Spain visited the Beijing Demonstration Center of Service for Persons with Disabilities as part of King Felipe VI’s state visit to the Chinese mainland.😊

At the center, the duo explored a themed exhibition on the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games, then stepped into the hall of high-tech support products. From voice-activated wheelchairs to smart canes, they got a close-up look at innovations making daily life easier.⚙️

Next, they stopped by a cozy reading corner run by a non-profit group. Here, they learned about reading activities specially designed for children with disabilities and saw barrier-free facilities in action.📚

In a warm moment, Peng and Letizia chatted with trainees getting hands-on baking lessons, crafting handicrafts and painting masterpieces. They also encouraged kids undergoing rehabilitation training. When children with visual disabilities sang a Chinese song called Songs and Smiles, smiles lit up the hall.🎨🍪

Peng emphasized that supporting persons with disabilities needs teamwork from all sides, hoping China and Spain boost exchanges and cooperation to help dreams come true. Letizia asked thoughtful questions about employment for women with disabilities and praised the achievements the Chinese mainland has made.👏

This visit shines a light on how tech, training and compassion unite to build a more inclusive world. 🌏✨
