Green & Digital: Chinese mainland’s First Carbon-Neutral National Games

Get ready for a game-changer at the Chinese mainland’s 15th National Games! This year’s event, running from November 9 to 21, is the first-ever carbon-neutral edition, blending green tech, digital magic, and waste-free vibes. 🌿💡

In Guangdong Province in the south of the Chinese mainland, 89 venues will buzz with action—and over 90% have been smartly upgraded or renovated from existing facilities to cut down on resource waste.

Take Guangzhou’s Tianhe Sports Center: a legendary spot from past National Games and the 2010 Asian Games. Now it features low-emission double-glazed windows that block heat and slash AC load. Plus, a DC inverter air-conditioning system pushes energy savings 11–23% beyond standard targets. ⚡🏟️

Lights, camera, LED! All stadium lighting got an energy-saving LED makeover, paired with an intelligent control system that dims or brightens on demand—cutting energy use by over 45%. It’s like eco-tech meets a sci-fi movie set. 🎬✨

“Our goal was to blend performance and planet care,” says Tan Haiyang, lead designer of the green renovation at Tianhe Sports Center. “Every detail counts when you aim for zero-carbon glory!”

From upgraded venues to digital energy management and waste-free event planning, these games are setting a new standard for sustainable sports. Tune in and cheer for a greener future! 🌍🏅
