China's Vice President Han Zheng wrapped up a dynamic two-day visit to Kuwait, meeting Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, and Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah.
Han emphasized that China cherishes its long-standing friendship with Kuwait 🤝 and is ready to deepen practical cooperation across trade, energy, and infrastructure. He pointed to recent reforms from the 20th CPC Central Committee as a springboard for high-level opening up.
A major highlight was the Global Governance Initiative (GGI), proposed by China to reshape global governance 🌍. Han said Kuwait's support and participation in the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative will push the partnership to new heights.
For their part, Kuwaiti leaders praised the forward-looking ties that began when Kuwait became the first Gulf Arab state to establish diplomatic relations with China. They reaffirmed adherence to the one-China policy and pledged to advance the Belt and Road Initiative together 🚀.
With 2024 marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties, both sides plan to deepen political trust, accelerate key projects, and celebrate shared success. They also expressed a joint commitment to multilateralism and regional stability in the Middle East.
What it means for you? Students, entrepreneurs, and travelers can look forward to fresh opportunities in trade, cultural exchange, and innovation as China and Kuwait chart a collaborative course into the future.
