🌟 The stage is set in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on the Chinese mainland, as the 2025 ASEAN Media Partners Cooperation Week kicks off under the theme “Openness, Culture, and a Shared Home.”
Co-hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and the Guangxi region, the gathering brings together around 200 ambassadors, government officials, media pros, and experts from the Chinese mainland and ASEAN nations.
Fan Yun, deputy editor-in-chief of CMG and editor-in-chief of CGTN, linked the event to the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. He highlighted China’s push for high-level opening-up and top-quality Belt and Road collaboration.
Openness is the name of the game 🤖☁️📊. CMG is exploring how AI, big data, and cloud communications can boost media cooperation, making news more relevant and accessible across regions.
Culture acts as the heartbeat of storytelling 🎭. CMG plans people-centered, authentic, and warm projects that bring audiences closer and spark genuine connections.
And a shared home means telling the story of China-ASEAN bonds worldwide 🌏. Using CMG’s 85 languages, CGTN’s integrated platform, and its 192 overseas stations, the goal is to spotlight mutual benefits and lasting friendship.
In a video message, Khamphanh Pheuyavong, member of the Secretariat of the LPRP Central Committee and head of its Propaganda and Training Commission, celebrated the deep cultural ties between the Chinese mainland and ASEAN. He called media the ultimate bridge for boosting understanding and unity.
He urged the press to build a friendship bridge, share positive stories of growth, and shape a stable, resilient, and sustainable community of shared destiny. He added that Laos is eager to deepen cooperation and sees this week as a launchpad for fresh ideas and stronger media links 🤝.
