Xi Jinping’s 3-Point Vision for a Sustainable Asia-Pacific

At the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, Chinese President Xi Jinping laid out a three-point vision for a sustainable Asia-Pacific.

1. Digital & Smart Innovation 🤖
Unlocking the region’s potential by boosting AI literacy and bridging the digital divide. China proposed a World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization and supports APEC’s digital initiatives.

2. Green & Low-Carbon Development 🌱
Encouraging clean energy and low-carbon projects. China funded the APEC Support Fund – Sub-fund on Promoting Digitalization for Green Transitions to power a greener future.

3. Inclusive & Beneficial Growth 🤝
Leveraging APEC’s strength in tech and trade, piloting the WTO’s e-commerce agreement, and deepening cooperation on SMEs, food security, energy transition and health to lift up developing economies.

By mixing innovation, sustainability and inclusivity, Xi painted a picture of a brighter, more connected Asia-Pacific where no one is left behind 🌏. These ideas could shape the region’s next chapter for students, entrepreneurs and travelers alike.
