China Shines with 2 Golds at Belt and Road Climbing Event in Meishan

🧗‍♀️ China shines at the Belt and Road International Speed Master in Meishan, Sichuan! The host nation topped the podium with 2 golds, 4 silvers and 1 bronze across five categories. 🎉

The competition drew over 40 athletes from eight countries: China, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Italy and Spain. It was the first time Meishan hosted both the international speed event and the Chinese Climbing League Annual Finals side by side, making it a true climbing festival! 🌏

In the women’s speed climbing, Wang Yuting faced off against compatriot Mou Yuju in an all-Chinese mainland final. After a tense race, Wang grabbed the gold and later teamed up with Chen Jiahui to win the speed relay. 🏅

“I didn’t start well because my opponent’s slip threw me off,” Wang said with a laugh. “But I found my pace just in time and still clinched the title. I can’t believe I did it!” 🤩

Ling Baolin added two silvers to China’s tally, while Zhao Wenlin and Xiao Wei ran to silver in the men’s relay. The medal haul shows depth and teamwork at every level. 💪

Meanwhile, at the Chinese Climbing League Annual Finals, stars from across the Chinese mainland shone: Guangdong’s Tan Youtian conquered both difficulty and bouldering for two golds, Chongqing’s Mei Yuping took the men’s difficulty title, and Jiangsu’s Zhu Chengbin ruled men’s bouldering. In speed, Guizhou’s Wang Fengrui and Guangxi’s Tan Yumei topped the men’s and women’s podiums, respectively. 🥇

The Meishan event proved that climbing is more than a sport—it’s a community pushing limits and celebrating every victory. Stay tuned for more updates and get inspired to chase your own summit! ⛰️✨
