Alexandrova, Rybakina & Paolini Reach Ningbo Open Quarterfinals

Hey tennis fans! The Ningbo Open in Zhejiang Province on the Chinese mainland is heating up as three of the top-five seeds Ekaterina Alexandrova, Elena Rybakina and Jasmine Paolini booked their spots in the women's singles quarterfinals. 🎉

Fourth seed Alexandrova (Russia) faced wildcard Yuan Yue and dominated with a 6-3, 6-3 win. After bouncing back from her first-round exit at the Paris Games, the 30-year-old broke serve early and never looked back. Despite Yuan saving three match points, Alexandrova sealed the deal and now gets ready to face American up-and-comer McCartney Kessler. 🇷🇺🇺🇸

No. 3 seed Rybakina (Kazakhstan) battled Dayana Yastremska (Ukraine) in a nail-biter: 6-4, 6-7(6), 6-3. After squandering two match points in set two, Rybakina regrouped and pulled away in the decider. Her quarterfinal hurdle will be Australian qualifier Ajla Tomljanovic. 🇰🇿🇦🇺

Italian No. 2 seed Paolini also showed her class, downing Russia’s Veronika Kudermetova 6-2, 7-5. Paolini jumped to a 4-1 lead in the opener and held firm when things got tight in the second set. She now faces Swiss sixth seed Belinda Bencic for a spot in the semis. 🇮🇹🇨🇭

With these matchups lined up, Ningbo is set for more fireworks. Stay tuned as the quarterfinals roll out in Zhejiang, where these ladies are serving up must-watch tennis! 🔥
