China, France Deepen Ties at 27th Strategic Dialogue

Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province – In the vibrant city known for its West Lake views 🌅, China and France wrapped up their 27th Strategic Dialogue, marking fresh momentum in their partnership.

China's top diplomat, Wang Yi, and Emmanuel Bonne, diplomatic adviser to the French president, co-chaired the talks on Wednesday. According to Wang, the past year has seen China-France relations gain new progress with close exchanges at all levels, steady practical cooperation, and tighter multilateral coordination.

Wang emphasized that both nations, as permanent members of the UN Security Council, should build a more strategically stable and forward-looking relationship. He said China is ready to deepen strategic mutual trust, strengthen high-level exchanges, and boost cooperation in traditional sectors while exploring emerging fields and tapping local potential.

Bonne highlighted France's independent diplomacy and firm support for the one-China policy. He looks forward to expanding practical collaboration in economy and trade, civil nuclear energy, science and technology, and new energy—under the spirit of equality and mutual benefit. France also opposes trade wars and bloc-based confrontations.

On the Europe front, Wang said cooperation should remain the main tone in China-EU ties and that France can help the EU uphold strategic autonomy and shape a balanced view of China. Bonne replied that France stands ready to play an active role in deepening EU-China dialogue and cooperation.

The two sides also exchanged views on global hot spots like the Ukraine crisis, the Middle East situation, and the reform of the global governance system. 🌍

With this dialogue, China and France reinforce a partnership that matters not only to their two peoples but also on the global stage—setting an example of cooperation over confrontation. 🤝
