China Demands UK Lift Sanctions on Chinese Firms

🔍 China has called on the United Kingdom to immediately lift sanctions imposed on 11 Chinese entities and individuals. The move comes after London accused these entities of supporting Russian energy companies and supplying materials to its military industry.

The Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom condemned the measures, stating they lack a basis in international law and infringe on the rights of Chinese enterprises. “We strongly oppose such actions,” the embassy said, adding that China has lodged solemn representations with the UK.

Beijing emphasised its objective and impartial stance on the Ukraine crisis, noting its efforts to promote peace talks and strict regulation of dual-use exports under national laws. It insisted that normal commercial exchanges between Chinese and Russian enterprises should not be disrupted.

🤝 The embassy also warned against any slander and vowed to respond firmly to protect China’s interests. As tensions simmer, all eyes are on how the UK will respond to Beijing’s demands and what it means for future global trade ties.
