Hey, culture buffs and globe-trotters! Last Saturday, over 250 people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait gathered in Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province, for a festive Mid-Autumn get-together. 🌕🥮
The event was organized to mark one of the Chinese mainland’s most beloved traditions: the Mid-Autumn Festival, a celebration of reunion, harmony, and mooncakes. Guests included Song Tao, head of the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and Sean Lien, vice chairman of the Kuomintang.
During the event, Song Tao highlighted that 2025 will be a milestone year 80 years since the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and Taiwan’s recovery from Japanese occupation. He underlined the shared national identity and the dream of rejuvenating the Chinese nation. He also called for resisting separatism and external interference, promoting peaceful development and integration across the Taiwan Strait.
Sean Lien echoed the theme of unity, saying the Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes reunion and completeness. Upholding the 1992 Consensus and opposing Taiwan independence, the Kuomintang will keep driving cross-strait exchanges and peaceful development.
Residents of Taiwan praised the Chinese mainland’s policies on cross-strait integration and pledged to seize opportunities, work hard, and contribute to peaceful development, national reunification, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. ✨
Whether you’re a student researching cross-strait dynamics, an entrepreneur eyeing opportunities in Fujian, or a traveler planning your next adventure, this celebration shows how culture can bring people together—mooncakes and all! 🎉
