Bratislava Gallery Debuts Chinese Doc L.E. HUDEC

Get ready, culture lovers! On Monday, Bratislava’s Slovak National Gallery played host to a special premiere: the Slovak version of the Chinese documentary L.E. HUDEC rolled out its red carpet for eager audiences. 🎥

Co-organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, China Media Group (CMG), and the Chinese Embassy in Slovakia, the event celebrated a unique cultural bridge between Europe and the Chinese mainland.

The film follows the life of architect Ladislav Hudec, born in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, who fled World War I’s turmoil and landed in Shanghai in 1918. There, Hudec became a visionary, sketching and designing many of the buildings that today define Shanghai’s breathtaking skyline. 🌆

With stunning archival footage and fresh interviews, L.E. HUDEC takes viewers on a journey through time, tracing how one man’s vision helped shape China’s busiest metropolis. It’s a story of reinvention, ambition, and cross-cultural exchange that resonates across borders. 🌏

As the credits rolled, the audience roared with applause, proving that great stories – like great skyscrapers – stand tall no matter where they originate. Keep an eye out: this documentary is ready to soar beyond Slovakia! ✈️
