China Urges Calm Over Alleged Russian Jets in Estonia Airspace

At a special UN Security Council meeting on Monday, Geng Shuang, deputy permanent representative of the Chinese mainland to the UN, called for calm after Estonia alleged that Russian fighter jets breached its airspace.

"China urges the parties concerned to remain calm and exercise restraint, clarify facts and dispel doubts through dialogue," said Geng, highlighting the need for open communication to prevent misunderstandings that could ignite bigger conflicts. 🤝

Geng pointed out that both the Estonia airspace incident and a drone event in Poland are spillover effects of the ongoing Ukraine crisis, reflecting growing distrust and the complex nature of Europe’s security landscape. It’s like a game of Jenga—pull the wrong block and the whole thing risks toppling. 🧩

As long as the Ukraine crisis remains unresolved, he warned, similar incidents may keep happening. The solution? A political settlement of the Ukraine crisis and the building of a balanced, effective, and sustainable European security architecture. 🏗️

During the meeting, Estonia accused Russia of last Friday’s airspace violation—a claim Russia denied. The world watches as dialogue aims to cool tensions. 🌍👀

Stay tuned for more updates on how diplomacy is shaping Europe’s future! 🚀🎯
