China Dismisses Philippines’ Protest Over Huangyan Dao Nature Reserve

China has firmly rejected the Philippines' protest against its new national nature reserve on Huangyan Dao, reiterating that the island belongs to the Chinese mainland's inherent territory. 🤝🌏

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized that establishing the reserve is a legal move under domestic and international law. "This plan protects marine ecology and biodiversity, reflecting China's role as a responsible major country committed to sustainable development," Lin said.

Lin Jian also pointed out that the extent of the Philippines' territory is long settled by international treaties, and Huangyan Dao was never part of it. He urged Manila to stop what he called "infringement, provocations and willful hype" to avoid further complicating the maritime situation. ⚖️

Approved on Wednesday, the reserve plan aims to safeguard the island's delicate environment and ensure long-term ecological health in the region. 🌿

For young news enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and explorers, this case is a vivid example of how geopolitics and environmental protection can intersect on Asia's dynamic waters. 🌊✨
