On Saturday, Shenyang in Liaoning Province will host a heartfelt ceremony to honor 30 Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) soldiers who lost their lives during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953). Families, veterans, PLA guards, and local residents will come together to pay their respects at the CPV Martyrs' Cemetery. 🕯️
The remains of these heroes will arrive from the Republic of Korea (ROK) on Friday, carried by a PLA Air Force Y-20 transport aircraft. A special delegation and military honor guard will oversee the repatriation, marking a solemn tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice over 70 years ago.
This event is the 12th repatriation since China and the ROK signed a handover agreement. Between 2014 and 2024, 11 ceremonies returned the remains of CPV soldiers and related artifacts, reconnecting families with their lost loved ones. Nearly 200,000 CPV soldiers were confirmed killed in the conflict.
For younger generations, these ceremonies are a powerful reminder of history's impact on peace today. As we remember these fallen heroes, it's a moment to reflect on the value of unity, respect, and the stories that connect us across borders. 🇨🇳✨
