China-Portugal Deepen Ties: Zhao Leji Meets PM Montenegro

Beijing saw an exciting meeting on Tuesday as China’s top legislator Zhao Leji and Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro shook hands to deepen bilateral ties. 🤝

Zhao, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, highlighted the "important consensus" reached by both leaders and invited Portugal to join four global platforms: the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative. "Let’s practice true multilateralism together," he said. 🌐

The NPC also plans to ramp up exchanges with Portugal’s parliament, sharing know-how on legislation and supervision to strengthen lawmaking processes.
