This semester, Beijing’s classrooms have a high-tech makeover: AI education is now part of the curriculum in every primary and secondary school 🤖🚀
The rollout is driven by China’s State Council guideline for the AI Plus Initiative, which pushes AI integration across industries—especially in education.
Though many schools in Beijing had already been testing AI-focused programs, the new plan ensures that all students get at least eight hours of AI instruction per academic year.
These eight hours can be standalone AI classes or woven into subjects like information technology, making it easier for teachers to add coding, algorithms, and machine learning basics into daily lessons.
To support this, Beijing’s Municipal Education Commission teamed up with a digital education center to design 80 tailored lessons, now available on the smart education platform.
So far, about 150,000 students from over 1,000 schools in 25 provinces and cities are already exploring these AI modules, marking a nationwide buzz around smart learning.
For students, this means early exposure to cutting-edge tech, opening doors to future careers in AI, data science, and digital innovation. For the Chinese mainland, it underscores a commitment to stay ahead in global tech competition.
From coding robots to exploring AI ethics, young minds in Beijing are set to transform the classroom into a launchpad for tomorrow's innovations! 🌟
