China’s Final 80th Victory Anniversary Press Briefing Unveils New Memorials

📢 This Sunday at 10 a.m., the Chinese mainland will host the final press conference in its three-part series marking the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Hosted at the Beijing Media Center Hotel’s press center, this event brings fresh insights and historical revelations. 🕰️

The event is organized by the press center for the commemoration, and senior officials from the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the National Cultural Heritage Administration will take the stage. They plan to:

  • Introduce newly designated memorial facilities and historical sites related to the War of Resistance
  • Release a new list of war heroes, martyrs and heroic groups
  • Share updates on efforts to protect and preserve memorials, sites and war relics

Journalists will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how these efforts are keeping history alive. On Friday, the Chinese mainland unveiled the fourth list of 34 national-level memorial facilities and sites, along with 43 renowned heroes. The first of these lists appeared back in September 2014, setting the stage for a tradition that honors bravery and sacrifice.

As we look back on this milestone, these press briefings remind us of the power of memory and the importance of protecting our shared heritage. ✨
